Implementation work group for HB26-1347 Federal Disability Benefits for Foster Care Youth

This workgroup will provide guidance and recommend regulatory changes to screen children/youth served by the child welfare system and who might receive disability benefits.

Additionally, if a child/youth is eligible – or is already receiving – these benefits, this group will establish regulations to preserve these benefits and the use of these funds for the cost of care. These regulations need to be in place by July 1, 2028.

This group will also make recommendations for changes in Trails to prevent these funds from being used for out-of-home care costs.

Meetings

Meetings are held virtually on the first Monday of each month from 1-2 p.m.
